Becoming the Author of Your Own Life with author Ben Mikaelsen

Required Reading: Students are expected to have read at least one of Ben Mikaelsen's books (Ghost of Spirit Bear, Countdown, Red Midnight, Rescue Josh McGuire, Petey, Touching Spirit Bear, Sparrow Hawk Red, Stranded, Tree Girl). Being familiar with Mr. Mikaelsen's work is what makes the magical connection between the story and the creation of the story.

By recounting his own struggles to become a writer, author Ben Mikaelsen empowers students to realize their own potential. Ben's goal is to motivate students to try reading and writing on their own. He finished his talk with a slide show offering a humorous look into the day of an author.
