2009-2010 Polycom Special Events

Polycom Special Events are designed to provide Polycom customers

with free curriculum-rich videoconferencing connections in order

to demonstrate the power of the technology to support learning.

Special Events include connections to renowned authors, experts in the field, famous locations and many other events that provide FREE rich content to Polycom customers to enhance curriculum and increase student achievement.

All events are free to Polycom customers, but author interviews require a book to be read for the event. Author interviews use the ASK Process (“Authors Specialist and Knowledge”) - an organized process that provides students with the opportunity to interview an author or a subject specialist in the topic they are reading about.

Click on the event below to view a page that contains the details of the event including links to the ASK process. Registration takes place in CAPspace (http://projects.twice.cc) and requires a CAPspace account and verified equipment.

Registration for September-December events will begin on September 8th.

Registration for January-May events will open on December 1st.

Please check your calendars carefully (teacher conferences, vacation days, state testing) and make sure your class is available before registering. Cancelations are requested 5 weeks in advance to give another class a chance to participate.

In the side bar on this page is a link to the student permission form needed for your students. Please print it out, have one filled out for each student and send them to Elaine Shuck, 2209 Thompson Dr., Sturgis, SD 57785.

Each event will have an equipment test date scheduled 3-5 days prior to the event. You will be emailed the date and time of the test.
